History
The development of Mattanu started during 1991 after a
successfull capture operation in Malawi. Roan antelope and Sable antelope were some of the
first antelope species to be released on the ranch. It was an ideal habitat for rare species
and it was a great day when re-introducing Roan antelope to this area. The Roan species were
hunted till exctinction in the previous century where they previously occured up to
Campbell. New species have been introduced and are well-managed and protected on the
